HealthcareWorkforce TransitionAcquisition
The Challenge
Following the acquisition of an established hospital in the Eastern Cape, the new hospital group needed to transition all employees, doctors, and external parties from old management to new ownership. Changes included new systems, processes, and ways of working — all within tight timelines. The primary risk was disruption to hospital operations during and after the transition.
Our Approach
We developed and implemented a change approach designed to create excitement around the new vision, clarify what was changing for each stakeholder group, and build leadership accountability. The plan included leadership briefing packs, stakeholder engagement sessions, transition planning for frontline teams, and targeted communication to minimise productivity dips around Day One.
Measurable Outcome
The transition was completed within tight timelines with staff ready and engaged. Hospital operations were maintained without disruption, and occupancy rates were sustained at the high levels recorded before the transition — a critical commercial metric for the new ownership group.
