A successful strategy refresh starts by clearly defining the change. Only then can you begin to align and mobilise your people to achieve your vision. We supported our client by developing a framework and materials to engage their entire organisation on the new strategy. In addition, we helped them understand the practical changes needed in mindset and behaviours.
The Challenge
Following a strategic review, our client embarked on a journey to refresh its strategy and realign its organisational culture to support its goals. However, when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, it introduced additional complexity. Remote working and financial impacts in the short to medium term affected certain roles in the organisation. As a result, while it presented the case for change to realign the organisation for the future, it also posed challenges to managing the transition and maintaining focus on the strategy refresh and culture shift. Therefore, a dynamic change approach and framework was required to set the client up in the three-month engagement, enabling them to effectively manage this evolving landscape.
Our Strategy Refresh Solution
To address the challenge of an evolving change landscape, we helped our client define the changes impacting their business along with the outcomes they wanted to achieve. Next, we developed the framework and supporting materials to engage the entire organisation on the refreshed strategy, along with a practical understanding of the required mindset and behaviour changes. Finally, we supported the set up of a change support network. The support network played a key role in facilitating the strategy engagements with staff, positively influencing their peers and sustaining the change in the long term.
Only through clearly defining the change for the organisation, can you begin to align and then mobilise to achieve the change.
The Outcome
With our support, the client established the necessary change support structures in the organisation to manage future changes. In addition, staff expressed positive feedback on the strategy engagement process. In the end, the strategy refresh approach was valued, ensuring everyone understood what it meant for the organisation, teams and individuals.
